Version 2.20 includes new field layouts!
Written by Lt. Colonel Brad "68Raptor" Harwell
Friday, 23 July 2010

Yesterday, 22 July 2010, saw the release of a new version of Aces High II. One of the biggest impacts to the 68th Lightning Lancers is the change to the way airbases, vehicle bases, ports and towns are laid out.

A couple of changes to note:

      1. Large airfields now have 8 fighter hangers

      2. Vehicle bases now have 4 vehicle hangers and now include 3 anti-tank guns (17 pounder)

      3. Ports now have 2 vehicle hangers and also include 2 anti-tank guns (17 pounder)

      4. The towns are now much more spread out and but not include any auto-ack.

The anti-tank guns are not auto-ack guns.

HTC has included new clipboard maps with the new layouts. I've updated our current 68th maps to reflect the field layout changes. They are available for download and print or simply copy into your Aces High file folder on your computer. Click the link below to access the files. (You must be signed in to access the file)

The version release also changed the look of several items in the game. Below is a picture to help you in identifying the new objects from the air

Welcome to the 68th Lightning Lancers

Welcome to the home of the 68th “Lightning Lancers” virtual Fighter Squadron.  We are based in the “Internet’s Premier WWII Combat Experience” Hitech Creations Aces High II. Our membership is composed of skilled internet pilots representing a variety of aviation disciplines who are all dedicated to working as a squad and honorable flying.

We primarily fly in the Late War Arenas, and actively participate in special events and historical scenarios. During our late war arena squad nights, our sorties primarily involve us in base captures whether by dive bombing, level bombing or using ground vehicles. In addition to improving ourselves as individual players, our goal is to develop solid cooperative tactics between wingmen within our own squadron, and with other players in the online arenas.

If interested in joining the Lightning Lancers, click in the recruitment link on the left hand side to read our guidelines and rules.  Contact 68Falcon, CO or 68Raptor, XO on Sun or Thurs nights for more information
